Trick or Treat Bag

1. Note how the words “Trick” and “Treat” follow the circle shape, and the word “or” is straight. Allowing appropriate space around the words, stamp them on the muslin fabric, replacing the “o” with the moon from Creepy Crawly and adding the little spider from the same set about 1" below the “k”. Heat set the ink before handling the fabric.

2. Satin Stitch the letters with bright colors of embroidery thread, then outline each letter with black Back Stitch. Add eyelashes to the dot above the “i” to look like a person’s eye. Add French Knots on the “k”, and stitch a few straight lines for the spider’s trail. When finished stitching, trim each word about 1/8" from the stitching. Set aside.

3. Trace a dinner plate onto the black polka dot fabric and cut it out. Adhere it to the black felt with no-sew fabric glue. Use scallop scissors to create the edge on the black felt. Glue the fancy black cord over the edge of the polka dot fabric.

4. Cut a muslin fabric circle smaller than the polka dot fabric. Stamp two spider webs from Pattern Play on opposite sides of the circle running off the edge. Sprinkle with black embossing powder and heat set. Glue it to center of the polka dot circle.

5. Mark a smaller circle on the orange felt and cut out with zigzag scissors. Glue it to the center of the muslin circle. Add your stitched words using fabric glue. Embellish the bag with orange rick-rack, a purple gem for the spider’s body, and ribbons tied in a bow on the handle. Sew orange and black felt balls to the top edge of the canvas bag.

SPOOKY FOURSOME TAG:

6. Stamp the foursome from the Trick or Treat set onto the office tag. Sprinkle with embossing powder and heat set. Color in the characters with markers. Color the reinforcement and adhere to the punched hole.

7. Tear green paper to create grass on the tag. Glue then trim to the edges of the tag. Glue a piece of purple ball fringe to the bottom of the tag and attach an orange ribbon.

BLACK CAT IN THE MOON TAG:

8. Use the pattern to cut out the luggage tag, the base from yellow cardstock and the top from jack-o-lantern print paper. Glue the acetate or transparency under the print paper. Stamp the cat in the moon image from the Trick or Treat set in the middle of the yellow base and heat emboss. Add green gems for the eyes. Assemble the base and front with 3D dots, add the keychain, and glue the flap to the front of the tag. Tie some purple thread into the button and glue it on the flap of the tag.

BAT TAG:

9. Cut a bat from the black felt. Cut a circle in the body of the bat. Stamp and emboss the Halloween Night pumpkin on yellow cardstock, then color it in with markers. Back the felt bat with black cardstock, adhering the stamped pumpkin so that it shows through the hole in the felt. Add green gems for the bat’s eyes, small orange rick-rack around the circle, and an orange eyelet in the wing.

Hang all tags on the wire ring and attach the ring to one of the bag’s handles.
